After Pazhassi Raja and kerala Café the highly expected Neelathamara released all over Kerala as a Bakrid treat. The expectations were very high as it is the first remaking attempt in Malayalam. The first Neelathamara was released in 1979 by the direction of Yusuf Ali Kecheri scripted by Veteran M T Vasudevan Nair. So it’s almost a nostalgia that malayalees across the world share when its come to know about the remaking of Neelathamara.

Neelathamara starts with the flash back of “Kunjimalu” (Archana kavi). Within the first 15 minutes the viewers can easily read the total story so there is no suspense and the end is simply predictable. Most of the actors are new comers including the hero “Haridas” (Kailash).Suresh, Reema Kallungal, Samvritha are also noticeable

The movie lacks the typical Lal Jose touch and Vijay Ulaganath’s camera and Ranjan Abraham’s cuttings and Gokul Das is good as usual. he songs by VidyaSagar and Vayalar Sharath Chandra Varma is already hits the charts and malayalees  ringing back “anuraga vilochananayi” as their mobile tones.
