Formely titled Hadippa is a forthcoming 2009 Bollywood film directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner. It stars Rani Mukerji and Shahid Kapoor in pivotal roles with Anupam Kher, Rakhi Sawant and Sherlyn Chopra in supporting roles.The film is slated for a release on September 18, 2009.

Synopsis

Dil Bole Hadippa is a love triangle between the characters played by Shahid Kapoor, Rani Mukherji and Sherlyn Chopra. In the film, Sherlyn Chopra plays a model who is the girlfriend of the team captain played by Shahid Kapoor. Mukherji's character is masquerading as a male cricketer who makes it to the men's cricket team to prove that she can play the game as well as any man can. Along the way, Kapoor's character and Mukherji's character fall in love.


Title dispute

Sanjay Leela Bhansali had already bought rights for the title "Hadippa". When Yashraj Films requested Sanjay Leela Bhansali to give them rights for the title, Bhansali refused. Later, it had was announced that the movie title would be "Dil Bole Hadippa".[3]

Production

Filming began on July 17, 2008.[4] Urmila Matondkar was intially offered to play a cameo role in the film. Matondkar eventually opted out of the project and the role was offered to Tabu who agreed to do the film.
