Martin Prakkat's directorial debut "Best Actor" starring 'Mammootty' released in more than 100 theatres across kerala. Best Actor is Produced by naushad under Bigscreen cinmema.
The stylish Mammootty, the peppy songs, grand promotions and pre publicity, the moveie already grabbed the attention of movie goers in the state. Huge expectations before the release come to its finale today. The story is about 'mohan' a school teacher from a village of Kerala who wants to be an actor in cinema. The first half of the cinema is his struggles to realize his dreams. his family and friends supports him to be an actor. but he fails to become an actor at his attempts. The disappointed Mohan decided to move to the city for a final attempt. To learn realities of life, he joins with a gang of gundas at fort Kochi. He pretended as a dada from Mumbai, his attires and body languages transforms to the situation. Mammootty looks simply looks greater in these scenes. The ambitious Mohan get into more troubles rather than triumph, rest of the story is just like usual cinema.
One best question remains after the best actor show is that to whom we dedicate this cinema, to every aspiring actors or to the devil faced good Samaritan gundas or to the whole film industry or to the ordinary cinema goers.
The actors, the characterization, the frames and looks, everything is exceptionally good. the teamwork by martin Prakkat, Donmax, Ajayan Vincent and others worth a good applause. But the screenplay failed to connect this richness at its most. The director tried to give a twist at the climax even though the end of the story is predictable.
The songs by Bigipal, Santhosh Varma team is in mood with the cinema. Swapnamoru Chakku by Arun Elat and Machuvayeri by Sankar Mahadevan is bubbly. The visualizations of songs are good.
Verdict: Its good to see Stylish and simple Mammootty simultaneously.
