Patiala House is an upcoming Hindi Family Drama / Sports film being directed by Nikhil Advani and starring Akshay Kumar and Anushka Sharma. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Mukesh Talreja, Krishan Kumar and Twinkle Khanna under the banner of 'People Tree Films Pvt. Ltd'. 'Credence Motion Picture' and Hari Om Entertainment . Sports Action by ReelSports.

showcases four generations of the Kahlon family who live together, in a suburban house in London. Besides dealing with the emotions of a joint family, their joys and sorrows, the film should strike an immediate chord because it also talks of India’s main religion — cricket. It tells you how a 34-year-old ex-cricketer who sacrificed his dreams for his father’s ideals is given a second chance to fulfil his ambitions.

The film tells the story of a Punjabi guy in Southall, London. He dreams of playing cricket for England, but has to face up to his anti-English, conservative and authoritarian Sikh dad Gurtej Kahlon (Rishi Kapoor). Akshay’s character is caught in the dilemma of either pursuing his dream or toe his dad’s line.

Apparently, several cricketers have trained Akshay Kumar for his role in this film. Ex cricketers Paras Mhambre and Balvinder Singh Sandhu are among them. They have worked very hard on training Akshay to look and perform like an authentic bowler.

There is a huge list of cricketers that will put any IPL team to shame. Cricketers like ex England captain Nassir Hussain, New Zealand's Brendon McCullum, South African dashing opener Hershelle Gibbs, IPL's most expensive player Kieron Pollard, the controversial Andrews Symonds, Pakistani wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal, Sri Lankan's Tilakratne Dilshan, England's legendary Graham Gooch, Pakistan's Wasim Akram, and Australia's Mathew Hayden are all part of the cricket matches that feature Akshay as one of the team members.

Bhushan Kumar, the producer of the film confirmed, "Nikhil Advani was very keen that we do justice to the script, in which Akshay is a player from the England team and they are participating in the World Cup matches.
