Abbas Tyrewala brings yet another gang of friends after his debut movie  “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na”. This time its with "Jhootha Hi Sahi” starring John Abraham and Pakhi Tyrewala, wife of the director of this film Abbas Tyrewala. She is making her debut through this movie. The film was originally titled 1-800-Love, later renamed as Call Me Dil but will release with the title Jhootha Hi Sahi.

It is a romantic comedy that centers on John as Sidhartha and Pakhi as Mishka. John Abraham plays a character which is a compulsive liar who lies left, right and centre. Unexpectedly a girl comes into his life and he tells a lot of lies to her also. The film moves around how Siddharth gets into trouble because of his lies. John Abraham will be seen in a completely new and different look as a geek in the film.

John Abraham - Siddharth (The innocent liar)
Siddharth (Sid) has the soul of an adventurer. He loves mountain climbing… deep sea diving with sharks… busting drug lords… but only on TV. He hasn’t ever actually done anything adventurous in his life. His dreams of climbing Mount Everest were lost to the grind of life. So in reality, Siddharth runs an Indian bookshop in London with his friend Omar. His family is in India, so his friends form his family. And the one thing this entire family agrees on, is that he should break up with his girlfriend ‘Kutti’-ka… err..Krutika. But Sid chooses to be stuck in this relationship. Maybe because he doesn’t know that behind his geeky glasses and shy demeanor, is actually every girl’s dream guy. He is sweet, sincere, lovable and definitely not so bad looking. In short, he is perfect. He just doesn’t know it.

Pakhi - Mishka (The confused soul)
Mishka (no Russian connection) has drawn herself into a shell. She believes that everyone she has ever loved or trusted has lied to her. She is scared to say ‘No’ to anyone because she fears that they’ll leave her. Which is probably why she stayed with her boyfriend Kabir for five years despite knowing that he was, well, not such a nice guy after all. But when he leaves her for another girl, Mishka’s world comes crumbling down. She doesn’t have a reason to live anymore. Deep down, she is a girl who is full of life. She just needs someone to pull her out of her shell and show her that life can be beautiful. And that’s exactly what happens when Mishka meets Siddharth a.k.a Fidato.

Raghu Ram - Omar (The silent violent types)
Omar is Sid’s 4 am friend. Not that he has a choice. He is also Sid’s neighbour. Omar and Sid met at work when both of them worked at a boring IT company. When they discovered their common passion for books, they quit their jobs and started their own little bookstore called ‘Kaagaz ke Phool’ in London. Omar is Siddharth’s best friend and confidante. He is the leader of the ‘We hate Kutti-ka’ brigade. But what he wouldn’t confess to anyone, is that he himself has a huge crush on Krutika.

Alishka Varde - Aliya (The Wild child)
Born in Pakistan, Aliya a wild child was getting suffocated. So her parents wanted her to blossom and grow up to be her own person. So they shipped her off to London with her brother Omar as the chaperon. She has her own pickle business that is quite successful. At least Aliya likes to believe that !!! (And no one dares to disagree with her). When you see her, the first thing you’ll notice is that she is pregnant. The father of the child, Nick, absolutely adores her and wants to marry her. In fact, Aliya’s days are spent battling Nick’s numerous proposals for marriage. Aliya knows Nick loves her, which is quite apparent to everyone around her as well. But nobody understands why she wouldn’t just say ‘Yes’.

George Young - Nick (The romantic)

Nick is a Japanese banker, born and raised in London. He was a late child and his parents passed away when he was very young. He craves for a family of his own. No wonder he is over the moon when his girlfriend (Aliya) tells him she is pregnant with his child. Nick’s sole purpose in life these days is to somehow get Aliya to marry him. But for some reason she keeps snubbing every one of his outrageously dramatic proposals.

Omar Khan - Amit (The shy secret admirer)
Born in a conservative Gujarati family, Amit grew up with a secret. He is gay. Which was not too big a problem for him till his parents started forcing him to get married. Amit ran away from home and came to London where he started working at Siddharth and Omar’s bookshop. Everyone in Siddharth’s group adores him, and in them, he has found a new family that accepts him for who he is. Another thing you should know about Amit - He has a huge ‘school boy’ crush on the group’s hottie, Uday.

Prashant Chawla - Uday (The Player)
Uday is the hottie of the group. He owns a gay club and parties his way through life. Best thing about him - He is absolutely unapologetic about his lifestyle. He is a complete player and dates a new guy every week. He has a strange bond with Aliya and seeks her approval about every guy he dates. There is a weekly dinner at Aliya and Omar’s house where he brings his ‘Boyfriend of the week’ hoping to get that elusive nod from Aliya. The day she says ‘yes’ to a guy, Uday would immediately move in with him.

The film is produced by Madhu Mantena, John Abraham and Sharan Kapoor under the banner of Sa Re Ga Ma. score and soundtrack has been composed by Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman. Lyrics are by Abbas Tyrewala. Pakhi has written the story of the film.  Madhavan along with Nandana Sen will make a guest appearance in the film, which is scheduled to be released on October 15, 2010.
