Chance Pe Dance is the new film from UTV Motion Pictures which is directed by Ken Ghosh. Shahid Kapoor is in lead role and Genelia D'Souza opposite to him. Yahoo was the movie's working title, but later, Ken Ghosh confirmed the title Chance Pe Dance in August, 2009. Star was also considered, in the initial stages, but the makers rejected it as a movie was released in early 2008 starring Kunal Khemu was titled Superstar.

Katrina Kaif was rumoured to be Shahid’s co-star but the makers eventually chose Jiah Khan. She shot for the film but was asked to leave halfway through. Reportedly, she got over-friendly with Shahid Kapoor and was not doing her job well. She was replaced by Genelia D'Souza who shot her scenes in a whirlwind schedule.

The story of Chance Pe Dance is about a struggling guy who is very passionate about his career named Sameer (Shahid Kapoor). Sameer is really energetic and is always bursting with ideas, but struggles at times of getting a break in the film industry while keeping many different types of jobs. Sameer juggles various jobs to keep him afloat while pursuing his one dream to get a break on the big screen!. He is single minded in his goal to be an actor. During his struggling in the various jobs, he meets a young girl named Tina (Genelia D'Souza). Spirited, beautiful, responsible and fiercely independent, Tina strongly stands by her principles and beliefs - refusing to compromise on them in any situation. A crucial support system to Sameer, Tina's bubbly and vivacious demeanor helps Sameer get over many of the disappointments that he goes through in his struggle.

Atlast Sameer gets his big break in the film industry, but later finds out that he has to move out of his own house because he doesn't have enough money to pay all of his rents. Having no other choice left, Sameer starts living in his junky and shakey old car and starts teaching various types of dances to young kids who hate dancing, while he hates the kids. The kids also have tried to win competitions, hut always lose. His life starts to shatter when the director who was supposed to cast Sameer, started to look at who has more talent through a hunt. Sameer starts to bond with the kids and gives all his attention to them. He also falls in love with the fun-spirited and gorgeous Tina. Tina finally convinces Sameer to enter the talent hunt. Eventually Sameer realizes that sometimes life gives you that one chance...Toh...'Chance pe Dance'!
