Venicile Vyapari is directed by Shafi and written by James Albert. Mammootty will play the role of a trader based on Alappuzha which is called Venice of the East. This is Shafi's Fourth Mammootty Film after Thommanum Makkalum, Mayavi and Chattambinadu. Venicile Vyapari tells the story of a police constable named Pavithran, who served the force in the eighties. Mammootty is playing the role of the police constable. The actor will appear in three different getups.
