Featuring Mohanlal as Balaraman, a lorry driver, this story about an unusual revenge is expected to be in the league of his precious classics like 'Bhramaram' and ‘Thazhvaaram'. After Sarath Kumar (Pazhassi Raja), Prabhu (Pramani), Amithab Bachan (Kandhahaar) now it is the turn of popular Tamil director-actor Samuthirakani, who directed Naadodigal and has given a spectacular performance in Subramaniapuram to enter mollywood. The movie will also feature Ananya of 'Naadodigal' fame as Mohanlal’s daughter while Sneha plays his wife’s role. There are also several other actors like Thalaivasal Vijay, Maithili, Sneha, Kalabhavan Mani, Lalu Alex, Jagathy Sreekumar and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the cast. The technical crew boasts of such names as Maoj Pillai (Cinematography), Ranjan Abraham (Editing) and Manu Jagath (Art Direction). The music of the film has been composed by M Jayachandran and the lyrics have been written by Gireesh Puthencherry. The movie is scripted by S Sureshbabu. it is all set to reach the theatres as an Onam -Ramzan release. Now scheduled for the first weekend of September, the movie will be an emotional thriller, shot at many dangerous places in India. The climax of the movie was recently shot at 'Guna' caves at Kodaikanal where the superstar is said to have done some of the most difficult stunt scenes in his career. 'Shikkar' is eagerly awaited by fans of Mohanlal worldwide, as it brings together the Megastar and director M Padmakumar for the first time. Padmakumar's previous movie except ‘Parunthu’ with Mammootty had good reviews but failed to make benefit when they were presented before the viewers. His first three films like Ammakilikoodu and Vaasthavam featured young star Prithviraj in the lead. This new venture produced by Tetco Rajagopal under the banner of Sreeraj creations.
