Kutty Shranku is a Shaji N Karun film with megastar Mammoootty. The film is about a boat driver who has a cargo service in the sea port of Kodungallor. The film is taken in the backdrop of late 50's  This film epics the relationship of a boat driver with three different women who are not known to each other. They meet for the first time when their husband dies and the rest of the story narrates the feelings of the three women they have with the boat driver. Kamalini Mukerjee, Padmapriya and Meena Kumari will play the three wives.

Mammootty is excited about the movie saying “I am really excited because I will be playing three different characters but not three different roles, It is going to be a challenge for me because the basic nature of all the three characters is the same but there are different behavioral patterns and mannerisms based on what the three women say.” The other important cast members in the film are Sai Kumar, Siddique and Suresh Krishna. Issac Thomas Kottakapalli is the music director.

This will be the first ever Malayalam movie produced by Reliancea Big Motion pictures, a production house from Anil Ambani will be featured in the international Pusan film festival.
